Virtual Sessions

Virtual : private sessions

Pilates lessons devoted solely to your needs and objectives. Work with our Studio Director in the comfort of your own home to get the most out of your body during this unusual time.

We will continue to work in the Classical tradition and support your physical training even if we can’t work hands-on or face to face.

Whether you have access to Pilates equipment or props in your house, these sessions will be invaluable to your long-term training and are a great way to de-stress and conquer that niggle or ache you have been putting up with for far too long.

Virtual : group classes

During COVID19 restrictions, we introduced a variety of group training options to keep our clients humming along and maybe even a little distracted! We hope to keep some group classes online for as long as required to allow safe training from home and give you another option without jumping in the car!

Once you’ve completed your first steps package, your teacher will advise you that these classes are appropriate and will help you achieve your goals.

You’ll need a steady internet connection and be happy with having your video feed and mic switched on so we can encourage and coach you to confidence with the Pilates method.

See you online!

General class notice

Ultimately, The Movement Refinery aims to include all of the community within group sessions, however our virtual group classes do not cater for major injuries. Pregnancy, medical conditions and rehabilitation are best suited to Private sessions.

Join TMRPILATES in the online format using Zoom meetings while we keep our community healthy, your mind clear and your body strong.

Note: Virtual group classes available seasonally – check schedule.

Virtual : Themed Mat

Lynne will take you through an uplifting class designed to help you find freedom in movement in the classical work and beyond. We will work on the same theme for a two-week block and the voila, stay-at-home should be lifted! The first two weeks will focus on building a strong back, the middle two strengthening the body especially the glutes and shoulders and Lynne will round out this suite with two sessions focussed on finding the curves in your Pilates regime.

Virtual : Energizing Mat

Utilise an energetic mat practice to start the day right! Start with an awakening standing upright (so you don’t fall asleep), get down on the mat for a strong smattering of the classical work and then finish with some full body moves and a final standing release series!

Virtual : Classical Mat And Questions With Lucia

Spend a session with our favourite London gal as she works you through the Classical mat series and uses spare time to answer questions or problem solve key or new exercises. You’ll need to know your way through the first half of this sequence, be injury free or able to modify without stopping your zoom-mates.

Virtual : The Classical Mat

Sip an espresso and start with a brief mobility series before embarking on the classical mat (nearly all of it at least, crab anyone?) finishing on your feet for some razzamatazz vintage moves.

Virtual : #isolessons with Chris Kelly

These fifty minute sessions are on the schedule to help you go deeper in your body and movement understanding during our second go at ‘stay-at-home’. Make your Thursday evening something to look forward to. #isolessons will help you feel better day to day and will prepare you for conquering the method and the madness when we get to return to 526 Nicholson St. See the menu below and make sure you book in pronto!

Virtual : Nicholas' Fruit Salad Saturday

As it says on the tin, you’ll get a bit of everything depending on the mood in the zoom but unlike a tin of fruit-salad, not too much syrup. I’ll use all of the tools I have assembled to chill you out, wake you up and get the pep in your step for the weekend! This will be a mix of 80’s inspired chair dancing (Gyrokinesis), peculiar Germanic floor work (Pilates), some imperialist movements (ballet) and a good stretch at the end * may contain traces of nuts.

Virtual : A Fish Called Wunda

Ok, not everyone has a Wunda chair, but a handful do. Join me (Nicky) for a healthy dose of Wunda exercise. A bit of mat will be involved but we will work through strength, stretch and control on the mighty chair. Padded walls optional.

“It’s usually quite a challenge for me to try something or go somewhere new BUT From the moment I worked through the door at TMR I felt comfortable and at ease and I knew I was in good hands. Every private session was amazing! I always left feeling refreshed in both mind and body.”

“Exceptional Pilates Studio! Highly recommend learning this classical method and this studio is one of a kind. Nicholas is so considered, caring and rigorous in his teaching as well as a wicked sense of humour and fun. Real transformations possible at this studio that are progressive and gentle without the contemporary health and wellbeing industries hyperbole 😉 fantastic studio.”
